Looks like a cross House/Tree Sparrow with its grey strip on head and black mark on cheek, but I'll go for Tree Sparrow juvenile. Passer montanus.

Yes, isn't Rolf such a swot!

Well, this one sort of reminded me of the small Scops Owls we've seen a couple of times at the side of the F1 track in the rain at Interlagos, but I'm going for

Little Owl - Athene noctua, as its beak is so close to its eyes..

(Now, come on, everyone else! Give it a guess before Rolf gets home from work! )

As an aside, did you see this little fellow at the trackside during the Brazilian GP practices? He was lovely, and it's the second year running he has appeared during heavy rain. Brazilian Grand Prix in pictures - Telegraph

I understand he was a Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl - albeit a very wet one!

Looking at the red feet, I'm going for Black Headed Gull - Larus ridibundus

(However, that doesn't fit with your clue at the start, Crister, as they are not so common up north.....

Perhaps another clue then, please - and one more 'Swedish minute'?)

OK, the only bird I can find which is close, bearing in mind the patterning and perhaps it being small (minute) is the Little Gull - Larus Minutus
