    It's those yellow, staring eyes....
I can well imagine how horrendous it must be for a little bird to be staring straight into them.
Its last look at another bird perhaps?

Well, I DID take a look, but was uncertain of the size in that pic...

It looks like a Merlin (Falco columbarius) in flight - but you've just given us one of those,

    - so I'm still thinking!

Maybe I should leave it to Rolf - or Louise?

    LOUISE! Where are you?

Yes, Crister - this 'lady' certainly was anyway!

I've often wondered why the bird was given that name - and if there was a connection with Lord Montagu of Beaulieu near us. However, though he may have been an ancestor, he came from north-west of here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Montagu_(naturalist)

That's a Grey Wagtail ... Motacilla cinerea - (The Linnaean name makes that pretty bird sound like a disease though, doesn't it?)

P.S. Hope the car's going well!

Well, leaving the car to a garage is always a problem. Usually they are totally nerds just asking for more money. I usually do the fix myself but this time it needed a mig weld and my hobby weld was too weak for that kind of job. I am sure the job will be properlyu done but at a double cost as I am a "new" customer..... Well see.

The bird, yes Well done again
