I agree with Rolf. Northern Wheatear in Breeding plumage
I agree with Rolf. Northern Wheatear in Breeding plumage
Sure is
Stenskvätta Northern Wheatear Oenanthe oenanthe
Good finding!
Have this bird close to my garden Seen it in action once !
I'll go with female Red-footed Falcon - Falco vespertinus.
Yes Rolf, it is (in Swedish) an Aftonfalk
Nice bird if You are not a prey
Here is a new one for You all. What could it be ?
Red-flanked Bluetail - Tarsiger cyanurus
I reckon it's the Red-breasted Flycatcher - ficedula parva .
Yep. Have to agree Louise. You are right
The one I thought it was. Is not
Yes it is
A smaller flycatcher is the name in Swedish
Mindre flugsnappare Red-breasted Flycatcher Ficedula parva
Well done !
This Monday bird is a typical ..... ?
Black Hawk - Buteogallus anthracinus
I reckon it's a Nightjar - Caprimulgus europaeus. They are very similar.
Yes, I'm with Rolf on this - there are 2 big differences : the white on the tail - the Black Hawk has a line right across, the Nightjar just has patches at the edges & the face - the Nightjar has a white line under the eye.
Yes. Your right a nighjar. I didn't realize they were black.
But the black Hawk does have a yellow beak too
Nattskärra European Nigthjar Caprimulgus europaeus
Good finding, strange name for a bird, the Swedish name means Nigth Scare
It's not too much of a surprise that hey are called 'Night Scare' - they apparently have a silent flight and then a rather weird 'churring' call which I would find disturbing if I heard it at night
Think this bird is more friendly to meet
Firecrest - Regulus ignicapillus
Good finding, not the best picture
Brandkronad kungsfågel Firecrest Regulus ignicapilla
Well, this could be problems ? to name !
Well, I'm going to try - juvenile Pied Wagtail - Motacilla alba
There now, you can rule it out, Crister, so the others know what it's not!
OKI, it was a nice try
Could be a lark of some sort, how about Skylark - Alauda arvensis
Yes it is a Lark of some kind
but not that one Rolf
Songlark (Cincloramphus mathewsi)
Juvenile Shore Lark? - Eremophila alpestris
No
Still a few more to find
I think it may be a
Woodlark - Lullula arborea
Sorry but it is not
It´s a bad picture but You all need that - You are usually too good
OK, how about a Short-toed Lark - Calandrella brachydactyla?
We had some fun did we not ?
and Rolf had to blow the horn
Korttålärka Greater Short-toed Lark Calandrella brachydactyla
I did make sure that there was no toe showing
Again, well done
I nearly went for that.
I know that Kort means short in Dutch and the photo had Kort as it's title but mI thought .........no probably not but Ishould have

Now I didn't notice that, Beryl!
I think that we'd mentioned just about every other Lark known, so Rolf got that one by way of elimination!
Yes. I lived in Holland for two and a half years and picked up the a lot of the language and in the corner of the photo it said Kort. So I wondered about the short-toed Lark but didn't act on it
I didn´t know that You could understand kort so, until next time, I must remember that.
I know quite a lot of language, but that only works if you know that a short-toed Lark exists
So, let us what You can understand from the name of this next jpg
trä Meaning Wood/Tree
Ny guess is that it is a Tree Pipit - Anthus trivialis
