Yes, I'm with Rolf on this - there are 2 big differences : the white on the tail - the Black Hawk has a line right across, the Nightjar just has patches at the edges & the face - the Nightjar has a white line under the eye.

But the black Hawk does have a yellow beak too

It's not too much of a surprise that hey are called 'Night Scare' - they apparently have a silent flight and then a rather weird 'churring' call which I would find disturbing if I heard it at night

Yes. I lived in Holland for two and a half years and picked up the a lot of the language and in the corner of the photo it said Kort. So I wondered about the short-toed Lark but didn't act on it
