I think that's a Red-necked Phalarope - Phalaropus lobatus. Very rare in Britain.
I think that's a Red-necked Phalarope - Phalaropus lobatus. Very rare in Britain.

Videsparv Emberiza rustica
Well done again !
Next question What on earth is this ??
I'll get in first on this one Chris whilst everyone is out enjoying the wildlife and I'm committed at home in other directions.
Drake Green - winged Teal Anus carolinensis (North America).
Pete.
Yup. have to agree with Pete
Hmm , even I have to agree
Amerikansk kricka Green-winged TealAnas carolinensis
Well, a new one for You !

Well done Chocky
but not for me
Got too many birds to choose from, I will try again
Here is the new bird (I hope)
Female chaffinch - Fringilla coelebs
It's a warbler of some sort, got to have a search through my reference books. Not too many with that wing patterning.
Yep, it is a warbler
of some sort
OK, the only one I can find with the wing markings and which visits Sweden is the Hume's Leaf Warbler Phylloscopus inornatus.
Have to agree with you Rolf
'Hume's Leaf-warbler Phylloscopus humei' is also correct apparently
Hume's Leaf-warbler (Phylloscopus humei) - BirdLife species factsheet
So Rolf should take the credit. Well done Rolf
This is a regional variation, Humei is the South Central race, the ones you will see there (rarely) is the inornatus, coming down from Siberia. So the same bird, just regional naming.
As usual all is sorted
Here is a new fresh birdie
How about a Dotterel - Charadrius morinellus.?
Wryneck - Jynx torquilla
Correct Rolf....Dotterel in winter plumage. Well done as Chris will say.
Pete.
Yes what else could I say
Fjällpipare/Dotterel
Charadrius morinellus
Perhaps You all have noticed that I now present the bird in three languages
Anyway, You have to wait for the next bird until tomorrow.
I must restric this quizz to a bird/day or we will soon be out of both birds and questions.
I saw in a paper that we are expecting just about 1 miljon birds back to Sweden this week. I´ll see if I can catch a few for You
Look forward to it Cris.
Here we go !
Spotted flycatcher - Muscicapa striata ?
My best shot at this one Chris is......Grasshopper Warbler Locustella naevia.
Pete.
That´s a good shot Pete
Gräshoppsångare/Common Grasshopper Warbler
Locustella n. naevia
Let us see who will "shoot" this one
I'll go for Pied Flycatcher - Ficedula hypoleuca.
I'll go for a Collard Flycatcher - Ficedula albicollis ?
Oh yes, think you are right Beryl, as the collar extends around the neck.
Yes. I think so. Very similar though at first glance . It would be a rare migrant that we would see in the UK
