Wonder if You ever seen one of those birds ?
Wonder if You ever seen one of those birds ?
Hoopoe - Upupa epops ?
Nope I reckon it's a Grouse, perhaps a Hazel Grouse - Bonasa bonasia.
Lol. What is that on it's head. I thought only Hoopoes had some thing like that
Spose it could be a twig in the way. Not a good photo
Hazel Grouse have crests. The body looks too big for a normal bird, has to be a field bird of some sort. Hazel Grouse (Bonasa bonasia)
Yes I looked it up before. You are probably right.I haven't seen a Grouse (or a Hoopoe. Just the first thing I thought of) I'm sure you are right
I think you could be right on this one Rolf which I gave up on. I suppose a 'grouse' could take to the tree's but seems a little out of context to me, but as I say......I think you may be right.
Pete.
The eyes are a give-away
Good finding
Bonasa bonasia järpe
Find this bird, what could it be ??
Chaffchiff - Phylloscopus collybita
Sorry Chocky but No, it is not
I ´know that the picture is not the best
Female Chaffinch - Fringilla coelebs
No, it is not
Could be one of several Warblers, but these are probably one of the most difficult groups to tell apart.
OK. Garden Warbler - Sylvia borin ?
or
Water pipit- Anthus spinoletta

Well certainly a 'warbler' but without a search in my books my entry ends here......sorry.
Pete.
I better post a new picture for You all
Is this a 'new' pic of the same bird Chris? Whether or not it is this looks more like a 'flycatcher' but no more from me at the moment on this one.
Pete.
Ahh thanks Pete, hadn't considered Flycatcher, as I've never seen one. Perhaps a Spotted Flycatcher - Muscicapa striata?
Muscicapa striata
You beet me to it Rolf.
Well done
Don't want to sound like I took over this thread from Chris but not Spotted Flycatcher Beryl/Rolf. It's another one of those 'not one of ours' pics and at this point I don't know which one, plus no guarantee I'm right with the 'flycatcher' suggestion.
Pete.
Grey-streaked Flycatcher Grey-spotted Flycatcher -Muscicapa griseisticta
If we have no namechange this is a : Grå flugsnappare Muscicapa striata
In Swedish a Gray Flychatcher - usually You see the black and white one !
Muscicapa striata Is the name Rolf gave and here it it the Spotted Spotted Flycatcher - Muscicapa striata
Where the Gray Flycatcher is Gray Flycatcher (Empidonax wrightii)
But I might be wrong
In Sweden it's called the Grey, the second one is North American.
Good, sorted - let us move on !
What is this (My guess is that You don´t see too many in real life )
Is it a Snow Bunting - Plectrophenax nivalis ?
I think it's a Lapland Bunting Calcarius lapponicus (used to be called Fringilla lapponica), different patterning on head, probably a Female. Definitely don't see too many of them here.
Yes. I thought the head was slightly different but they seam to vary a bit
Your probably right Rolf. I have never seen one of either. Very pretty
Here I am again jumping in before Chris but he's used to it by now. Yes Lapland Bunting Rolf and as Chris would/will say......well done Rolf.
Pete.
Well, that was fast !
Lappsparv Calcarius lapponicus
Here a new fresh one. Wonder if they are common in the UK
Goosander - Mergus merganser ?
Sorry Chocky
Long-tailed Skua Stercorarius longicaudus ?
Sorry, but no
Black Guillemot Cepphus grylle in winter plumage.
Pete.
Ah. I ave only seen one in the summer. Well done Pete
Yes it is and yes again, well done.
I was sure this could be a problem for You
