Unusual, as they normally only feed from the hanging feeders.

There are a few of these in the little wood in th park , they are nice little birds

Lovely image rolf, we have some up here who feed from a small old log, we saw them last year and we went back a couple of weeks ago and sure enough we saw them on the same log, mind you it does help that people put wild bird seed on the log. They are so flipping quick I have struggled to get a decent shot of one

They always remind me of Zorro, it not only has to do with the black mask, but also the way they look from side to side whilst feeding.
