Default Sad spotting this morning, dead Pine marten

Looked like road kill, no sign of being shot, although difficult to tell, as it was right next to a wood where there is a lot of shooting at this time of year.

Great shame that this is the only way I can get to see one, have thought they were around, as sometimes the hens' eggs would materialise up in the rafters of the barn.

    What a sad photo!

It had been a lovely animal.

I am sure there will be relatives around, so keep looking - and check for more eggs in the barn....

I'm back over in May, so may well set up a peanut box in the wood and buy a trail camera to see if I can get some evening/night time pictures.
