So the sun has arrived, great for long distance bird shots and what happens? My tripod goes over onto a quarry tiled floor, can't see me repairing this.

That's a terrible shame Could insurance not cover it?
Not sure Catherine, but as I bought a replacement for not very much money, which is a much better camera, I'm quite happy.
Looking forward to seeing what it takes now!
Well I'll be back over to France in the next few weeks, so hopefully find some time to get a few photos.

LOL, wasn't too happy myself, but there was so much else going on at the time, it wasn't quickly put to the back of my mind.
