    Default Saw my first Goldeneye ducks today

    Being a late convert to aquatic birds, I'd not seen a Goldeneye, so was really pleased to see these at one of the Theale Lakes, off Bottom Lane.

    Don't their eyes look bright in the sun?

    Yes, their eyes leave you in no doubt as to what they are, shame I missed two Female Smew at the same lake, they were apparently asleep at the edge of the lake.

    Have another look at your photos. You might find them hiding in one - finding unseen birds in pics I download has happened to me before!

    Already done that, they were at the edge of the lake on the far side, didn't take any photos of that area.

    Maybe the thing to do is to take random pics of the whole area. Then you might get a great surprise when you download them!
