She sat completely unworried about my proximity which is why I could get such a close shot - but look what a gob-ful she has!!
Excellent, typical Blackbird, just keep collecting until things start falling out of their beak.
I did find a dried out caterpillar on the side of my raised bed today in exactly the spot where Dad clambered over it yesterday - they do seem to waste a lot of time and energy that way
But the Blackbirds around here are very active. I have 2 nests within 12 feet on my garden and so both lots come through quite a bit.
The other day I was standing at the Kitchen window with both coming back and fore every few minutes with beaksful. The female always goes over one end of the fence, and since I cut the ivey back a bit on my side and made a bit of a gap at the top, the male always over the other end ... his is the shorter way Tonight I spotted the females go over his way - she's spotted it at last!!!
All these legs must feel tickly when they go down their throats!
