I've only seen something vaguely resembling that once - standing on the clifftop just north of Culzean in SW Scotland.
It was a fairly breezy day, with the sun's brightness fading to a darker haze above Ailsa Craig in the distance. For a few minutes we watched what looked like tall funnels of water form at the southern end of the island, then travel along the coast to the northern parts - where they disappeared from sight.
We never saw it mentioned in the newspapers or on the TV, and couldn't film it as it didn't last and the whole island soon became enshrouded in haze, but it was amazing to witness!
Wow, nature is incredible. I kive the way that the sound in the background are quite ordinary
