Nesting birds - useful info

I've just spotted a couple of facts about Blackbirds - firstly, they often fledge before they can fly, and just hide for a while (which explains why the one in my garden didn't look like it was quite ready).

Secondly, they can apparently use a bit of mud when nesting, so if it's dry it could help to make a small mud-patch for them.

i found a baby crow the other day, think he had fallen out his nest - when thats the case treat like a escaped sheep they can be hearded to a safer location, saves them being picked up and all the stress... he was so cute...
