Taken on 23rd at Lwwt. He was very obliging and swam across the water channel fairly slowly.
Fantastic, Joe!
I remember when I used to watch those wonderful little creatures in a stream over our garden wall.
That was in the 50s, and not uncommon then.
I have never seen a Water Vole since.
That little stream was culverted to allow housebuilding on the site a few years later.
Nice shots Joe, it is a shame that sighting them is so rare, similarly, I used to see them all the time back in the 50s and sixties, but didn't really appreciate them.
Fantastic - it's such a pity that they aren't around much now. THey are supposedly in a small park near me but I've not seen one yet.
I also remember them as a kid in the 60s, and distinctly remember the 'plop' as they entered the water as an expected and regular part of the noise of being by the river.
Up until now all I had heard of them was the plop as I approached.
