Buzzard flies in
Over the last week or so, we have had a 3x-a-day visit from Buzzard.
He lands on our Oak tree first, then, having been chased off by the Magpie on the left, adopts a position on any nearby lamp post to survey the ground below!
(As it was very gloomy when Glen took these shots for me, I have tried to lighten the bird's colouring so you can see it better.)

I have some other shots, but they were taken with my little camera from upstairs - you see someone has to do the housework!
These were taken from upstairs, using my old A400. Buzzard circled in yellow. New Forest boundary trees marked on one pic, and lamp post on another!
He/she has visited the Oak tree every day for the last 5 now. We wonder if this may mark the southern edge of the bird's territory.

Envious of us having a Buzzard visit, or of Glen getting me to do the housework while he gets outside with his camera?
Envious of all those, especially being able to get such good shots. I haven't got a good one yet of a buzzard.
I can't tell Glen you said that, gentlemen.
You see I suggested he should check how to get rid of the brightness of the back-lighting next time!

Your own personal Buzzard? That's just boasting!!! I'm always torn by seeing a bird like this - I want to see them in action, but you know what that means....
The one thing that Winter really does bring, is the opportunity to see birds not hidden by the leaves. You are SO lucky to be able to witness this creature regularly.
