Default Busy week on the feeders

It's been a very busy week on the feeders, birds which have not made an appearance for weeks, or even months have reappeared to stock up for the Winter.

I have a gang of more than eight Goldfinches who are now regulars, plus the usual regulars: House Sparrows, Chaffinches, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits, Marsh Tits, Starlings (a dozen sometimes), Robin, Wood Pigeons, Collared Doves and a Dunnock. Returnees are a couple of Nuthatches, Great-spotted Woodpecker, several Blackbirds and a male Blackcap. Also guest appearances on the neighbour's roof, a Magpie and Heron.

Going through hulled Sunflower hearts and suet pellets like nobody's business.

You certainly have a fair selection there, Rolf!

Herons seem to like sitting on roofs - I guess it gives them a 'bird's eye' view of fish in a garden pond!

Don't get Marsh Tits or Blackcaps - and of course you HAD to attach a pic of that one....

It would've been rude not to Catherine.

I wouldn't have minded you being rude in that way, Rolf!

Mind you, we had two new visitors to OUR garden today - a Pied Wagtail - and a BLACKCAP!

(Though the latter didn't stay too long.... )

Well done, our Blackcap wasn't here for long either, although they do normally reappear, guess the Wagtail won't turn up here unless we have snow, although he was on the roof opposite the other day.
