I rarely use my bank card online, but if you want to buy a lottery ticket online you can't use a credit card.
Anyway, I decided to 'treat' myself to a "Euromillions" ticket this week but came up against a new security feature on those types of cards which involved me adding in all sorts of details about myself and the account. "Can't complete transaction, details don't match those on file - contact bank" it said. "sigh" go I as I check all the details and confirm that they are right.
So I phone the relevant number only to be told that my date of birth was wrong - not with me it wasn't, so they had obviously mucked it up during a data transfer. It's annoying, but these things happen, so off I go today to a branch with my passport.
"Yes, it's the date of birth" goes the woman, and then she sighs "it's the right year, just 1862... they should have just changed it". I wasn't too annoyed before since stuff happens.... but now I'm peed off.
On the plus side - I reckon I'm looking good for 148
