Default Gulls' legs are surely plasticine

If you look at the legs of our most common Gulls, don't they look as if they were modelled in coloured plasticine?

The Herring Gull's look like pink plasticine, the Lesser Black Backed Gull seems to have chosen the yellow plasticine and the Black Headed Gulls have nabbed the red for theirs!

Yet we normally think of them as just being grey and white birds!

You're spot on, some very interesting colours. Getting more into Gulls now, but they are so hard to tell apart.

What a good point - that's not something that had occurred to me, but I think that you have hit the nail on the head! I love that last shot - one with the wings down and one up. Great shot!
