One of the very few butterflies I've seen this year on a Buddleia... and it was on Rolf's shrub
Well you've done better than me Louise, not seen many butterflies on the plant at all, certainly not a Small Tortoiseshell. Well done with a nice shot.

We were at Exbury yesterday and there were SO many Butterflies and Bumblebees flying around the flowers in the sun! Most were Commas, but there were some Red Admirals, some small blue ones, some white ones and what I think was a very ragged Swallowtail!

Catherine - I'm so jealous. I've seen so few butterflies this year, not even too many whites trying to get at my cabbages. It's been a poor year.
The one I thought looked as if it was a ragged Swallowtail was actually a Silver-washed Fritillary. (Found that when I looked it up online!)
Still loved it though!
