Some lovely shots there, Rolf - with a nice crab by the looks of it in the first shot
Just revisited the shot with two birds, there is a very large size differential, perhaps the front one is a Whimbrel. Yes looks like a little crab, certainly as soon as he/she'd caught it a dash was made to keep it away from the other bird.
I think you're right there. The lengths of bills and leg colours also seem to differ.
I love the one in the 4th shot with its wings extended!
Yes, Catherine, #4 is a great shot - I do love it when you get to see the underwing so clearly.
