Default Grey Wagtail - Motacilla cinerea

I was watching this chappy for a while and thought "..he is bound to fly off across the water shortly - I'll keep my finger on the focus button ready". He was strutting about a bit so wanted to use the autofocus rather than manual as it was getting wearing.
I was right - but my finger slipped off as he flew off for just a few inches and then back!! I didn't get the good 'hovering' shot that I would have liked (and should have got!), but I did manage to get the focus just as he was landing back. Better than nothing

The second shot was me running across from the canal to the river trying to catch him. Not brill (you can see that I've kept the size small to make up for the bad quality!), but hey-ho!

Like that first shot Louise, looks like he's going to crash land doesn't he?

Yep, he does rather, Eddy - but he didn't... or I'd have posted the 'crash' photo

Well, when I say 'chase' I mean 'hobble slowly across the grass to the river'
