Blackcaps

On the cycle track today.This little chick had fallen out of it's nest and was on a collision course.

So I waved some long Grass (not in it's face,was well back) and it eventually turned and went back on to the grass.

I could hear his/her parent and I thought it was a Blackcap as I had seen them flitting about from tree to tree.

Then both parents landed on the wire fence with a beak full of worms one had a Lime-hawk moth caterpillar

Then the male came down to feed the chick. Took several photos of the feed though not as sharp as I would have like but I had to stay well back. I didn't want to startle the parents as I they might discard the chick

Wow, nice little event there - lucky for them that it was you who passed by! Lovely to be able to see both parents and the little one. Great !

Yes. Many people want to pick up baby birds and they don't realise it could be fatal for the chick.

Well he still may not survive the experience, but let's hope he gets lucky.
