    Cool January hoar frost

Been looking back through my photos and thought I had to share this one with you. This was taken on jan 8th during the bitterly cold spell. As you can see the night had been still enough for loads of hoar frost to form on the trees and the sun was illuminating this tree behind the cottages just about perfectly. Against the blue sky I think its stunning.

Half an hour later the hoar frost had gone, so it was one of those ephemeral moments when you look at something and think "wow"

Lovely shot, very pretty - is that a couple of birds sitting, up near the top?

Yup - members of the crow family probably. They roost up in those trees
