After lots of attempts I caught him in the act of diving.
brilliant shot its something i can spend hours trying to do, getting them actually diving or flying depending on how skilled i feel.
Billy, I was following this guy with my camera and whenever I thought he was going to dive I fired a long burst, but it still took lots of attempts.
Incidently little grebes are even quicker at ducking under and swimming away.
i spent 3hrs trying to get a little grebe diving, and still didnt get a decent shot!! Every decent shot is worth celebrating...

I always use rapid shots in hopes one will turn out good
(not always though. some times thy are all rubbish )
I did the same with a pair of Moorhens - it was lunchtime so I only had 45 mins to try and catch it... got nothing, I just couldn't get the timing right.
