Xmas Tree - St Mary the Virgin church, Reading

This is the town centre church (a Minster church) of which the main part is over a millennium old. The shot's not very 'all-encompassing' because I was on the way home after work and just sat the camera on the wall. This side of the churchyard is actually about 5 feet high with the wall just a little higher - so I wasn't going to get this line of shot from a distance (you can't move too much further back), and I don't think I can get a clear shot of the tree with the church in the background. I might try though.

Lovely shot Louise, some very subtle light tones there. You must be very brave to leave your camera stood on a wall though, too many lightning fast opportunists in Reading.

It certainly looks an unusual building - with those chequered walls, etc. A really clear shot, with great definition!

Don't worry Rolf, I'm not that trusting. The wall wad forehead height, and there's grass and graves between that and the church path.... I checked before I did it and basically snapped and withdrew.... I know my town

Yes Catherine, it is an interesting building, and was restored a few years ago so it really does look good. I must pull out some shots of it.
