Caught inbetween songs. The birds are all very noisy nowadays - I assume all trying to stake their claim on a feeding ground before winter really sets in.

Robins don't stay. they are migrating all the time. One you see this week will be gone on it's way next week. You could be right with the resident birds though.
Having said that some Robins stay all yea round but not many
I thought that the American Robin was migratory, but that in the UK ours were normally resident (and would be the ones we would see in the garden), with extra overwintering from parts of Europe. Maybe I am thinking about another bird.

Chris Packham was saying in Autumn watch the the Robin you see in you garden this week has probably migrated by the next as they are migrating all the time. I think they migrate in three wave a year but not sure
I think he's got it wrong. I don't go a whole bundle n Chris Packham any way. Some females females migrate a few tinmes a year
