Default Great Tit - Parus major

Still watching in my garden - I'm hoping for that "killer" shot of a common bird. Not got it yet (and without a long lens I'm going to have to be very lucky), but what I did discover was that I now have a Great Tit there.
It was a busy old morning with the Sparrows, possibly a Dunnock a Blackbird and at least 2 Blue Tits flitting about in my 2 trees. I was trying to catch the Blue Tits, but every time I spotted one in an open place it flew off before I could find it through the lens. Flighty little beggars

As I stared I kept getting a flash of white as a bird flitted too and from the roof to the trees, then I suddenly realised that that large Blue Tit I was about to shoot was actually a Great Tit. D'oh! I wonder if it's with the Blue Tits in a winter feeding group.

The first shot was whilst it was clambering about - they are very agile. I put in the dodgy second shot just because I loved the shape made by the wings as it flew off.

Thanks Alan - it's not hard when you can just lean out of a window for ages Unfortunately the trees are going to have to go, so I'm taking advantage of the little critters whilst I can.
