As do these two Butterflies, a diminutive Small Copper and colourful Painted Lady at Moor Copse nature reserve, I liked the surreal look of the back lighting.
That's a nice capture. Little and large
That's a most beautiful photo, Rolf!
Great for a greetings card as well as for the purpose here! Have you ever tried turning your pics into cards?
Too often I take (what I think are) good pics of Butterflies and find later that they have been surrounded by withering flowers!
You've got such a wonderfully atmospheric setting there.. warm yellows and sunlight ... (can't find a 'green with jealousy emoticon!)
- But I watched a Small Copper on the Lavender in the garden yesterday - lovely!
A small Copper in your garden, Catherine?
How lucky. I agree with you about this shot, it IS lovely, almost like it was set up - anyone got a chocolate box lid to stick it on?

Yes, Louise. It was on the Lavender, then the Marjoram.
I was busy working in the garden - planting pansies in the 'gaps' in colour, so I didn't have a camera at the time.
Its wings were spread perfectly for a pic too!
Typical - they always appear at inopportune times. Last night I was going through my shots when a big moth came through the window and landed on my screen. I got up to find the camera only to find that it had flow off... and that in fact, because I had just been uploading shots... the camera had been about 6 inches from the side of the keyboard!
