Default Kingfisher and young Moorhen at Lavell's lake Winnersh

Popped down to Lavell's lake yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours, a well overdue visit.

Since my last visit the friends of the lake have installed a Kinfisher perch opposite Tern Hide and lo and behold after an hour, one turned up for a minute or so, unfortunately wouldn't keep very still.

The lake level is very low at the moment, apparently a problem with the sluice gate and pump, it badly needs water, as the main scrape is completely dry.

Ooh, a Kingfisher! I was thinking off putting up a branch in a good spot at the river near my work - they are there... apparently

That's right.A chap walks in the brook from his house all the way down to the Estuary sticking large twigs in the embankment for the kingfisher and it uses them too
