    Nikon D300,nikon 70-200 +1.7 converter. Nikon 105 mm Macro with VR Sigma 300 with X2 converter Nikon P5000 with fieldscope and Binos Nikon D7000 Nikon 17-55 mm F2.8

    Default not sure about this fellow

    Is he a Hornet Clearwing Moth (Sesia apiformis ) or just a normal (stingy type) hornet

    One of the Hover flies Joe. It doesn't apear to have any antenae unless I just can't see them

    Olympus Evolt E520, and borrowed lenses and flash. Fuji Finepix S7000 for Macro A chair :)

    Yep, a Hoverfly - non-stingy and very beautiful. Unfortunately there are a million of them, so it's hard to get the exact one (one day I'll get a book !)

    Hoverflies tend to have a bit of a flattened body - some look like they've been sucked dry!
