Come in to my Parlour said the Spider to the Butter-fly

I feel a little guilty about this as I accidentally scared the Peacock butterfly into flight and was therefore sort of responsible.
There was a breeze and of course the whole thing involved the body being spun, so they are not all as clear as I would like.
After it was made into a neat little package the spider pulled it up from the web into it's 'lair' in the ivy.

Great observation - though I realise you must have felt a bit guilty to watch it!

The third and third last photos are particularly good. You're an expert with close-ups, Louise!

Thanks, all - all a matter of right place, right time (and of course, camera to hand!). It was certainly fascinating to watch - it took about 3.5 minutes from start to finish.
