Captured this little lovely on a nature footpath
The first photo was taken on jpg fine
Th second photo was taken Raw and hasn't been enhanced in any way
Well, the un-enhanced RAW seems to work very well, Beryl! Nice shot.
Thank you Louise
I was very pleased with it. I took it on the D50 . so will experiment with my D80. has a much larger photo size a well
Aah, you can't beat a large size. You can always make it smaller to fit with what you want to use it for, but you can never increase the quality. It does use up a lot of memory, but I'd much rather do that and have more to work with. I've not bothered to try RAW yet. I will do at some point but it's a whole new learning curve and I've still got a long way to go with the basics yet
Thing with raw is you have all of the data . The camera reduces it when set on jpg and you can't get such a close crop. The photos are about 4/5 mgbs in raw on the D80 . So am going to experiment as the pic is so much clearer
I have always use fine size anyway. You get less photos but a much larger pic and you can always use two cards
Well done Beryl, raw really does work well. Well worth the extra time and space
Beryl - I already take at 4 or 5 MB, so mine will be ginormous :-)
I also believe that you get a better result when changing things like exposure on RAW... a lot of my friends from the photographic community I'm in, use it, so although I've not used it myself I have seen what they are able to do. I just want to get some more basic skills first.
Thanks Joe. Will be using it from now.
I like also when you bring the photo up in CS3 the the colour chart come up and very thing then you have to open the photo. I saved it to jpg so am not sure about that part. It still shows much Sahara than the slightly enhanced photo on the left. Thought they were taken from different angles with different cameras and the sun was turning on and off
You are using a good size then Louise. I agree to keep picking up skills
P.S.
Forgot to mention the left was shot on 300 mm DG macro and the right was shot on 200 Nikon lens
