A pain to walk amongst, but the flowers are very pretty when you look up close.

It's always wort h a look, especially when you get a bonus-bug with it. You can't really see him properly on this one, but the one I took before this he was more obvious on the shot, although I didn't see him at the time.
Why are some Bramble flowers white and others pink?
Looking at ones at Keyhaven last week, I was wondering about that!
The fruit is really filling out well here. When I was young, August hedgerows were busy with folks picking brambles to make jelly. Now, mixing the fruit with apples in a tart seems the most popular use up north. Anyone got other ideas for brambles?
The soil some times determines the colour of a plant. If you water a pink miniature rose bush with Bicarb in the water you can turn it white. I found that out when I complained about my whit Min' Rose bush turning pink. Also the scidityin the soilcan change the co;our. Not in all plants though
You can't beat bramble jelly, but you could always steep them in gin - 3 months later drink the gin and eat the resulting fruit with ice cream
