Default Spring brings out the Morris Men

May day starts the Morris men off, and they keep going all summer!

To be fair, these were taken last year when the young Morris Men's association "Morris 18-30" came to Reading for a weekend. 1 or 2 from various groups around the country meet in one location for a few days ...and dance their way through! I stopped one pair for my "100 Strangers Project (see the 'kiss' - one of them was VERY surprised! ).
They co-opted a girl for one dance, and co-opted a group of performance artists for another (although these photos here don't really show them much).

Lovely group of lads, a couple of whom I had contact with afterwards when they spotted my stuff on Flickr.com.

This years it's Pontefract, so if any of you are near there.... October is the month, but the dates are unconfirmed. see here to get details:

I think it was more a matter of ".. if I do what they say, maybe they won't hurt me..."
