Long-tailed Tits in the garden

Getting several visits a day now from our little friends, they seem to alternate between the peanuts and the fat feeder.

they are lovely looking birds ..i like the feeder with the peanuts in i would like to get something like that at the moment i just put them on the bird table and the squirrels get to them first.....

That one came from The Nuttery - Our new site is about to be hatched..., they are just rebuilding their site, but you can order by phone.

I adapted that feeder by cutting four small flaps in the nut cage, to allow the birds to take whole peanuts in the winter and non-breeding season, I ordered a spare to put in for the breeding season and put crushed peanuts in it.

Nice shots, Rolf! I particularly like the second one.

LTTs are the same with us - mostly fatballs, then a peck or two at the peanuts and sometimes the quick grab of a sunflower heart.

Shame they never stay long!

Yes, was watching half a dozen of them just now as I was making a mug of tea, they don't even stay on a feeder for long, switching between two or three every minute or so.
