I'm no good at separating these with Rooks in flight unless I can see the bill. Not much difference in size, never concentrated on voice, and never seem to get round to giving myself some practice either.

Here is another view. I think it's a Crow. It wasn't very big

No doubt about your pic Beryl, definitely a Crow. The Rooks bill is decidedly different from the Crows but these two in flight with no view of the bill......hard work.

Must get some practice in on this.

Yes. I think the rook is larger. and has a different call the crow always sounds as thoughit is inpain with it's arrrrg arrrg and the rook is morr an orrrrg orrrg ans softer
