Is this a magpie with her chick. I took the photo from a long way off. I though at the time what a lot of white on this Magpie but looking at it on screen it looks like she has a very young chick.
What do you think please?
A chick so fluffy would be very young, and I can't quite see it being up there. Could it not just be an unusual young one that looks fine on top but has not yet lost the fluffy stuff on its belly, thus looking very weird?
I know. It may have a nest in the chimney is my thinking. I know they have very high nests I watch them in th park in the tallest trees .
It does seams a bit odd though. What is it doing?
Sitting there hoping that it won't take long until it looks normal?
I thought it was scratching .But I was watching it for a while because it had so much white, and it didn't go through any scratching motions and then I used my 2 X converter It's Much bigger but just blurred
I think it has lifted it's leg and is standing there on the one leg and has the nearest leg up like it is dancing
It could well be Beryl, juveniles have quite short tails and so does the one in your pic by the look of it, well spotted
either that or it's eaten too many pies
I thought it was a babe.Ad probably the nest is in the pot. I think she must have shoved it back in before flying off. There are an enormous amount of crows. I wondered if it was a mum introducing a chick t day light or some thing .
Thanks Babs.
