    Nice trio of pics of the Song Thrush Beryl. I'm curious as to why the birds crown appears red(ish) in all three pics. A strange piece of photographic deception?

    It does doesn't it. I hadn't noticed I thought it might be a youngster
    Here is another set. This is the same bird. I moved along a few feet so as to lose the blue car behind him.
    Now the others 3 were lightened slightly. This hasn't been enhanced in any way, it's straight from the camera but cropped and he still has a brown crown.
    I know he's a song thrush by his spear head shaped spots.
    His crown / crest appears to be razed . in the last photo it is flat
    The colour may be due to bright sunlight
