Thanks andy, yes I thought it might look quite good in black and white. I haven't done a lot in black and white but this week, I may try some again, thankyou for your comment. I bet it looked nice this morning, we woke up to snow on the ground but the sun came out later and melted it all away.

i believe some of the runways at manchester airport had to be closed last night, due to snow, we have had only a few flakes..30 miles away.
as you said earlier, though, when you live near a canal you sometimes take them for granted. a walk up them can throw up some good wildlife spots.
