    Default little egrets

have you noticed how common little egrets are becoming?
there was a time when a trip to a salt marsh might very rarely yield a glimpse of a little egret. now even as far north as up here in lancashire they are reasonable common. now they appear in multiples rather than single rare birds. i think it is fair to say that the same is happening with the likes of spoonbills and avocets ( avocets even breed at leighton moss)
a recent trip to leighton moss saw at least 23 little egrets. these gave very close views as they waded infront of eric morecambe and allen hides.
they imges were taken in the month of january at warton marsh ( between preston and lytham st annes)
