Stone Henge
Whilst travelling back and forth to my Brother at Yateley in Hants I pass Stone Henge. Last time I decided to stop( for Mother She loves the place) and took some photos. I asked why the sky was a purple colour . She said it is a phenomenon. However it is really purple you can see in one of my photos about half an hour later the sky was a normal grey January colour. I haven't altered the photos in any way . You see the view from one side then the other.

Yes the raptor is a Kestrel. Mother pointed that out Here is a phot. Not the best it was very high up but mother has a keen eye.

Lovely. I've not been there for years - I must go.
I always wanted to see it with the sun rising, and almost did once. When I was doing my a-levels, one of our science teachers arranged an overnight trip to go UFO spotting - in Warminster of course!
We sat on the hill all night cooking sausages and staring at the skies (having previously visited the pub of course - amazing how you can track them down even in a strange place). We did see stuff that was unidentified (and moving unnaturally even for a plane), but I wouldn't swear that it was alien.
Anyway, the reason for this anecdote was that we were going to Stonehenge to see the sun rise.... unfortunately it was too misty to blinkin' well see anything! It was a great night

Yes. I used to drive bods up to Wilton Barracks from Portsmouth and drop them off and drive down a very long road to Stone Henge and my hair felt like it was standing. Really weired feeling and the landscape was so flat and vast it seamed to travel with me. I love the purple sky that is weired too
And I thought we had some wierd places here in the North.
It does all look so very eerie. Would love to pay it a visit. Although for someone who can remember when the Dead Sea was only poorly,I guess I had better book a trip soon

You would like it DD. You could take some really good landscapes from all angles it's a very wast and flat landscape even away from the Henge
