Here is a nice picture of a bird in the landing zone :)
It looks like a Starling of some sort
Yep, looks like a member of the Sturnidae family, but other than that I have no idea and I don't think it is a visitor to our shores.
Well, a look-a-like it is but No !
It´s something else :conf40:
Found it, apparently it can be very occasionally seen in the UK, but the last spotting I can find is a couple of years ago.
spotted Nutcracker - Nucifraga caryocatactes
:)Yes Rolf, and No Rolf
It´s a nut allright but this one is a special brand !
I don´t want to be nosy but this is a ?:-rofl
Best I can do I'm afraid, the picture I found of the Spotted Nutcracker looked pretty much the same, but we don't really get them her, so know nothing about them. :)
It´s really just the beak that differs (hence the nosey:D)
Smalnäbbad nötkråka Nucifraga caryocatactes macrorhynchos
Here he is
Artlista
Something for the weekend :)
Not good on these, it is a Sandpiper I think, perhaps a White Rumped Sandpiper. Calidris fuscicollis
Close. Calidris is the family :)
Is it a Sanderling . or a Knot in summer coat ?
Pectoral Sandpiper (Calidris melanotos)
Breeds in N America and NE Siberia and is the commonest American vagrant to Britain and Ireland.
By the way 'digdeep' I've not worked out why you haven't given Rolf a 'yes' on the Nutcracker answer unless you disqualified him for using the word 'spotted'.
Pete.
Tuvsnäppa Calidris melanotos
Nice birdie, good finding

Well done rolf
Again a very nice picture of a not so common bird !
Looks like a Shrike, Lanius _____ but it isn't one we get in the UK as far as I know.
Yes, and it ends with a Lady´s name :conf40:
Lanius isabellinus - Isabelline Shrike Don't think we get that one Dig, or if we do, it is a bit of a rarity. :)

Isabellatörnskata Lanius isabellinus:thumbsup:
