A very good guess Chocky :)
It is from the same region but No, not what I wanted to read ;)
Aleutian tern S. aleutica ?
Could be just a Common Tern, Sterna hirundo.
Well, it is not that common :) and it is not a Stern:eek:
Arctic Skua Stercorarius parasiticus
Pete.
So very close that they might be brothers :D
So, not exactly what I want :)
Ahh, just noticed the length of the tail, it looks like a Long-tailed Skua - Stercorarius longicaudus.
It was the tail for sure:thumbsup:
Fjällabb Stercorarius longicaudus
:bananarock:
Yes the tail. Serves me right I should have been more observant......some people never learn. Well done Rolf.
Pete.
Lol. I thought the tail was a part of what he was perched on :bang:
They are remarkably alike (Arctic/Long-tailed) as are a great many of the bird species, the most difficult being 'warblers' but I'm not making excuses Rolf.
Pete.
Time for a new bird :)
Black-tailed godwit - Limosa limosa ?
No, sorry to say
Dunlin - Calidris alpina ?
You are closing in :)
Looks like a Stint of the little variety.:) Calidris minuta.:)
Temmink's Stint calidris temminkii
Pete.
Just what I wanted Pete, well done
Mosnäppa Calidris temminckii :)

Looks like it's my turn to be first in the queue again Chris......Turtle Dove Streptopelia turtur
Pete.
Well Pete that was a close shave:)

Europian Turtle Dove - Streptopelia turtur ?
Well its Oriental TD Streptopelia orientalis which I find amazing......well sort of amazing!
Pete.
I wasn't too far out then Pete.:)
Well done:thumbsup:
No not at all too far out Beryl......good fun isn't it.
Pete.
